Today I started another try in going to Gozo. When I stepped outside everything was flooded. The cars tires were half under water when they drove on the street. It had been raining nearly all day yesterday and all night. I was very glad that I had my hiking boots on. I drove over an hour to the ferry in Cirkewwa, but when I arrived it stopped raining and you could look very far to Gozo and Comino.
When I arrived in Gozo I found out, that the hop on hop off buses are not driving today because of the bad weather. So, I had to use my normal bus ticket to go everywhere I wanted to. My first stop was the Citadel in Victoria again. Last week it was so foggy that you couldn’t really see far. But today you could see the sea in some directions and it was just stunning! Only problem today was the wind. It was really windy and you had to be really careful not to fall down anywhere.
While waiting for the next bus I wanted to take I sat in a café for a little while. Then I drove to the Xwejni Bay! It was really beautiful but I could just lean forward and wouldn’t fall cause the wind was so strong. When I really want to see something, I’d do everything to manage to get there.
I took another bus to a town called Xagħra. There was supposed to be a cave so I started walking. I walked over half an hour against the wind before finally arriving and the view was gorgeous! There were some other people also taking pictures and I really wanted to stay for a while but it was so windy so I decided to head back to the bus stop after a while. 10min later some Maltese people stopped with their car and asked me if I wanted a lift.
They drove me to the next city where I stayed some time and had a look at the preparations for the carnival. When I went back to the ferry I had to walk another half an hour. When I finally arrived, I saw a big group of musicians who came from another city for carnival got on the ferry. They played the whole drive back to Malta their music and were dancing and singing it was really cool and it was like a private session just for us on the ferry.
